SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. —
It was all hands on deck at Burlington’s airport Saturday afternoon. Police, firefighters and EMS were on scene for what police say was a Phase 5 situation on one of the flights.
Officers on scene said they were called to the Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport because passengers on a flight from Washington, D.C., smelled something unusual on the plane, so it had to land. Officers were told that there was smoke in the cockpit.
Police said everyone got off the plane okay and emergency vehicles were able to clear out. Officers said they were called as a precautionary measure.
