An Olympic Air airplane taxiing on the tarmac of Mytilene’s airport had to be evacuated on Tuesday morning, after a fire indicator started flashing, owner Aegean Airways said in a statement.
The captain of flight OA 250, which had just arrived from Athens with 59 passengers and four crew members onboard, informed the airport that there might be a fire in the engine and evacuated the aircraft with emergency services on standby.
Engineers who inspected the plane concluded that the indicator was faulty and there was no fire on the engine or the aircraft.
