A Delta Air Lines flight experiencing a possible mechanical issue landed safely at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Sunday afternoon.
Flight 5823 left Orlando, Florida, at 11:38 a.m. and landed at RDU at 1:21 p.m., according to Flight Aware.
A spokesperson from RDU said the crew called ahead to report a potential mechanical issue, but the plane landed safely.
Scanner traffic indicated there may have been smoke in the cockpit, but WRAL News has not confirmed that information.
